PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
“Bedroom Blue Bursts” is a multimedia installation combining drawing, painting, photography and video. The exhibition will take place in the bedroom upstairs, above the work space/studio, and in the workspace/studio below.
Upstairs: Small paintings, drawings and one video playing on a television.
Downstairs: If there is enough time, I will first paint the walls of the space blue. I will then install blow ups (enlargements: see page 8) of the drawings and paintings that are installed in the bedroom. There will also be a film projected on one wall.
CONCEPT:
In having the bedroom as an exhibition site, I want to explore the boundary between public and private space. I am interested in beds, and all things that happen in them. Dreams, sex, sleep, transformation of the body and mind, and rest. How does the exhibition space below relate to the bedroom above? I am interested in figuring out how to transform this space below - how to clean it out, and how to make it quiet?
